~Onion soup,Mushroom soup or Tomato soup ?

“I like these cold, gray winter days.  Days like these let you savor a bad mood”.

                                                                                         ~Bill Watterson

And days like these let you also crave for a good tasting soup! And that’s where you start wondering and get confused before making the right choice of your soup!

The one that may be the least caloric and fattening than others is tomato soup! By default when you puree tomatoes, you get a thick and consistent mixture that would simply require herbs, a few tablespoons of olive oil and a teaspoon of balsamic vinegar …

Mushroom soup is the final product of the following combined ingredients:

“Mushrooms+ butter+ cream+vegetable stock+onions+salt+pepper ”

You can  calculate the amount of fats, saturated fats, cholesterol and calories and give yourself an answer whether to opt for a mushrooms soup or not !

N.B: Light versions of mushrooms soup are often found in the supermarket; that’s just in case where you’re not eating it at a restaurant!

Onion soup!! The main ingredient in this soup is obviously onions in addition to beef stock, butter, white wine, seasonings and  lots of Swiss gruyere cheese! And then again, you do the maths!!

I had for lunch a soup bowl of tomato soup 🙂 with half a portion of Santa Fe chicken salad at Casper&Gambini’s!

And yes if you’re wondering whether i could resist the basket of bread or not, with Casper’s famous cheese dip you can double check the picture below and get the answer 🙂
